PESHAWAR: The Peshawar Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system comes closer to reality as three senior staff took their positions from Thursday.

TransPeshawar, the Urban Mobility Company, was established by the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa to oversee construction, operations and management of Peshawar BRT.

The Board of Directors of TransPeshawar has appointed Altaf Durrani as its CEO, Fayyaz Khan as General Manager Planning & Construction and Mohammad lmran Khan as the General Manager Operations & Marketing.

All three appointments were made following a competitive process of recruitment. “It was an open and transparent process and attracted applicants from within the country and abroad,” said chairman of the board Javed lqbal.

Durrani graduated from UET Peshawar and completed his Masters in Civil Engineering at University of New Brunswick, Canada and has been working for the City of Calgary Transport Department as Projects Coordinator.

Fayyaz Khan gained his masters degree from the University of Ontario and has worked for the Ministry of Transport, Alberta.

Mohammad lmran is also a graduate of UET Peshawar and got his Masters in Urban Planning and Transportation system from Hanyang University in Korea. Until recently he was working on the Lahore Orange Train Project.
