
This was disclosed in a meeting presided over by Punjab Additional Chief Secretary Shumail Ahmad Khawaja at Civil Secretariat on Friday. The meeting reviewed pace of progress for materialising the Science Enclave Project, envisaged by Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif under PAFDA at Thokar Niaz Baig, Lahore.
The meeting was told that the PC-I of the project would be completed with a total cost of Rs6.3 billion. The department of Implementation & Coordination Punjab issued administrative approval of the project while the finance department allocated an initial amount of Rs2 billion for development of laboratories and other construction work.

The development fund will be utilised during the fiscal year 2017-18. Non-development funds comprising Rs4.27 million had also been released to PAFDA for the current fiscal year.
Punjab Forensic Science Agency Director General Dr Muhammad Ashraf Tahir and PAFDA Project Director Sohail Ashraf presented briefings in this regard.
