PESHAWAR: The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Governor Iqbal Zafar Jhagra on Wednesday called for broader mechanism with better financial management with transparency in running affairs of Gomal University.

Presiding over a meeting of the senate of Gomal University, Dera Ismail Khan at the Governor House he asked management of the varsity to strictly observe financial rules and regulations.

Beside others, Gomal University Vice Chancellor Dr Muhammad Sarwar, MPA Ahtisham Khan, Justice Abdul Aziz Kundi and provincial secretaries of higher education, finance and establishment departments.

The governor was briefed about salient features of the budget and statutes of the Gomal University. The university senate approved the annual budget of Gomal University.

However, proposed statutes of the university were approved conditionally. During the meeting, a committee was constituted to finalise the matter after due consideration on the proposed drafts.

While concluding his remarks, Governor Jhagra urged the university administration to ensure utilisation of funds with care and in accordance with prescribed financial action plan. He also appreciated the working of the university.
