Independence day wrangle: Grapplers to vie in Jashn-e-Azadi Dangal

Dera Ismail Khan will see top wrestlers in action during the freestyle dangal organised for August 14

PESHAWAR: Like every year, the people of Dera Ismail Khan will see top wrestlers (pehalwans) in action during the Jashan-e-Azadi Freestyle Dangal (traditional wrestling) organised for August 14 at Haq Nawaz Park Dera Ismail Khan late afternoon. Speaking to the media District Sports Officer Dera Ismail Khan Anwar Kamal Burki disclosed that all arrangements had already been completed for holding the Dangal. He said the main attraction of the All-Pakistan Freestyle Dangal will be the contest between Rustam-e-Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Fazal pehlwan Kachy Wala and Rustam-e-Bahawalpur Hanif Pehlwan. Burki added that the Directorate of Sports Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa in a joint venture with District Government and District Administration Dera Ismail Khan had organised the event. He said besides two prominent pehlwans Fazal and Hanif, there will be 14 other prominent pehlwans (wrestlers) competing in the Independence Day Freestyle Dangal.
