Three dead as Indian troops storm mosque, houses in held-Kashmir

Occupied forces also used pellet guns, injuring many protesters

Indian troops killed three youth in occupied Kashmir on Sunday during a search operation in Awneera area of the Shopian district, Kashmir Media Service reported.

Umar Majid Sheikh, resident of Khathpora Yaripora, Adil Malik, resident of Malikgund Shopian, and Irfanul Sheikh, resident of Malldaira Shopian, were killed after Indian forces stormed a mosque and four houses during the siege that began late Saturday night.

At least two Indian soldiers were also killed and several others injured when protesters attacked the occupied forces taking part in the operation. The Indian troops also used pellet guns, leaving a number of protesters wounded who were shifted to District Hospital Kulgam.
