ISLAMABAD:

A resolution was submitted in the National Assembly Secretariat asked the government to stop its plan to devolve the Higher Education Commission to the province.

The resolution was signed by different political parities held that the Mian Raza Rabbani was misleading the public.

It contented that under the 18th Amendment devolution of HEC was not a constitutional obligation. The resolution said that the dual statements of the minister in this regard were not acceptable. “The HEC is being devolved due to political vendetta against it, for its role in parliamentarians’ fake degrees cases,” said the statement.

Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani was asked to give a verbal assurance on the floor of the house along with written instructions guaranteeing that the status of the commission would not be changed, the resolution demanded.
