QUETTA: MNA Jamshed Dasti has said that justice has prevailed, ending the dominion of the Sharifs, adding that all politicians must be held accountable for their misdeeds.

Talking to media-persons at the Quetta Press Club on Thursday, Dasti said the era of Nawaz Sharif’s GT Road politics had ended.

Appreciating the Supreme Court verdict, he said that disqualifying a serving prime minister over allegations of corruption was the right thing to do.

“Nawaz Sharif had turned into a national security threat. Only government servants took part in the GT Road march,” Dasti said, adding that whosoever was involved in corruption should be disqualified in a similar manner.

Criticising Nawaz, he said those who opposed the ‘container culture’ themselves took shelter in a container.

“Nawaz Sharif rose to power and tried to impose a foreign agenda on Pakistan,” he said, adding that corrupt politicians looted public money and shifted it into foreign bank accounts.

Referring to the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), the MNA from Muzaffargarh said the multi-billion-dollar project would help create jobs for the unemployed youths of Balochistan and usher in an era of development in the province.

“After waging wars in the Arab world, enemies of Pakistan are trying to fuel insurgency in Balochistan, but their nefarious designs will be foiled,” he said.

Dasti stressed the need for accountability of all politicians, saying, “The ouster of this prime minister will pave the way for holding all corrupt politicians accountable for their financial misdeeds. Politicians must all face accountability.”
