PA resolution wants licences cancelled

MPA said doctors' demonstrations were being held for no substantial reason

LAHORE: The treasury benches demanded the cancelation of licenses of those doctors who protested against the government and boycotted their duties at public hospitals.



PML-N legislator Hina Pervez Butt, through a resolution submitted in the Punjab Assembly, said young doctors would hold protests for their cause and left patients to suffer. She contended that patients were going through massive issues due to the protests of the medics. The MPA said these demonstrations were being held for no substantial reason. She pointed out several patients had died as they were not provided with medical treatment.



Butt added the protests had affected the lives of several people, but the doctors were adamant over achieving their goals rather than coming back to hospitals and performing their duty. She demanded the house to cancel licenses of those doctors who participated in the protest.
