Thousands throng Express career expo

Over 50 national and international institutions and other organisations take part

LAHORE: More than 50 national and international universities, schools, colleges, consultants and other organisations took part in the annual Express Education and Career Expo 2017, which began on Wednesday at a local hotel.

The expo, organised by the Express Media Group, attracted thousands of students, parents, teachers and academics who gathered information about education opportunities and took part in various competitions organised for the expo. The two-day expo was inaugurated by Punjab Higher Education Minister Syed Raza Ali Gillani, while Punjab Higher Education Commission (PHEC) Chairperson Dr Muhammad Nizamuddin also visited.



Gillani said such activities were needed to guide the youth of the country. He added the Punjab government encouraged the youth and would extend its full support to organisations which conducted such informative activities.



Dr Nizamuddin said it was good to see so many youngsters taking part in the expo. “Having access to a large number of universities, colleges and consultants will give students an opportunity to understand existing options and resources about education facilities.”



The expo came to Lahore after successfully holding events in Islamabad on May 10 and 11, in Karachi on May 20 to 21, in Faisalabad on July 4 and 5 and in Peshawar on July 18 and 19.

Ayesha Malik, a student, told The Express Tribune that she wanted to apply to foreign universities, but did not know how to gather information on where and how to apply. “I came here to gather information and I was amazed to see many international universities and consultants who helped in securing admissions in universities across the world.”
