PESHAWAR:
There is no power on earth that can separate Nawaz Sharif from his loving supporters, said Amir Muqam, the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa President of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) on Wednesday.

Speaking to party activists from the province, joining the ousted premiere’s Lahore-bound convoy, Muqam said Nawaz was a national leader and “he was, is and will be the future prime minister”.

Muqam said that despite the fact that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) rules K-P, the presence of a large number of PML-N supporters to march for their leader in Peshawar was a message for the provincial capital that the heart of K-P belongs to PML-N.

PML-N activists from across the province gathered at Peshawar-Islamabad Motorway around 6am on Wednesday morning and the caravan left for the federal capital around 6:30am.

Local leaders headed their respective activists from Charsadda, Mardan, Swabi and other connecting areas within K-P in convoys, which joined the main caravan from K-P on the motorway heading to Islamabad.

PML-N leaders claimed that some 1,800 vehicles were in the caravan which reached the federal capital at 10am. They claimed the former PM was repeatedly asking if the caravan from K-P had arrived yet before heading out.

Muqam is said to be accompanying Nawaz inside the bombproof container.

Nawaz is heading in a convoy to Lahore via GT Road in what is being dubbed as a show of PML-N's political power after he was ousted from the PM office by the Supreme Court which disqualified him on July 28 for not declaring his assets in his nomination papers during the 2013 elections.
