Divisional Development Working Party approves 16 mega schemes

FAISALABAD: The Divisional Development Working Party (DDWP) has formally approved 16 development schemes costing Rs1.458 billion for Faisalabad under Annual Development Programme. The projects included education, drainage, highways and other sectors.

In this regard, a meeting was held on Tuesday which was chaired by Divisional Commissioner Momin Agha and was attended by all the heads of the districts.

Rs 213 billion set aside for South Punjab development

The development schemes which were approved by the DDWP included provision of IT labs in 35 boys and girls schools in the district at a cost of Rs70 million, augmentation of water treatment plant in Millat Town at a cost of Rs100 million and replacement of old sewerage lines in Faisalabad City with funds of Rs75 million.



In addition, Rs122 million would be spent on water supply schemes in the constituencies of NA-80, while Rs100 million had been allocated for the drainage scheme of Ahmadpur Sial. Funds worth Rs70 million would be spent for the provision of drainage facilities at the village of Peer Abdul Rehman Ahmadpur Sial, Rs100 million for the PCC sewerage project of Jaranwala City and funds of Rs125.50 million would be spent for the construction of bypass road from 3 Pulley to Cantt Road, Shorkot.

Govt depts seek staggering 250% more for development work

Divisional Commissioner Momin Agha directed the agencies concerned to ensure that all development projects were completed as per the specifications. He warned officials that negligence in implementing the projects will not be tolerated.
