PM, air chief discuss PAF’s operational preparedness

Reiterates Islamabad’s firm support for Kashmiris in meeting with AJK counterpart

ISLAMABAD: Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman called on Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi at the latter’s office in Islamabad, a statement said on Monday.

“Matters pertaining to professional nature and operational preparedness of PAF were discussed during the meeting,” read the statement issued by the Prime Minister’s House.

Earlier, the prime minister met his AJK counterpart Raja Farooq Haider at the former’s residence. PM Abbasi reiterated Islamabad’s firm support for the people of Indian-occupied Kashmir as both leaders discussed matters of political significance and development initiatives during the huddle.

Meanwhile, Gilgit-Baltistan Chief Minister Hafiz Hafeezur Rehman also called on the prime minister and congratulated him on being elected as the premier.

Apprising the prime minister on the status of various ongoing development projects, the CM extended an invitation to Abbasi for visiting G-B. “The government is determined for socioeconomic uplift of G-B and will continue to extend its all-out support in this regard,” the prime minister was quoted as saying.

The prime minister also met Punjab Governor Rafique Rajwana and discussed matters of mutual interest.
