According to its organisers, the wedding expo is an effort to bring together both wedding consumers and providers with cost effective methods to tap into lucrative wedding market, while providing the attendees with the most convenient method to find the best resources to plan a wedding.
Speaking at the inaugural ceremony, Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) President Abdul Basit said this was the first expo of its kind not only in Lahore but in Pakistan. Basit said given how families have to contact several service providers for their wedding functions, a platform where everything was available at one spot, served as a huge opportunity to someone who was planning a wedding in future.
“Our culture is such that people spend their whole life savings for weddings that involve a lot of money and planning, therefore such exhibitions can save a lot of time and money for the public,” Basit added.
He said there was a void in the bridal market and the event would help fill this void. This effort was in line with LCCI’s vision to meet the needs of ever thriving community, he added.
“Such activities are very important to boost the economy and welcome investors from abroad,” he said.
