LAHORE: The University of Health Sciences (UHS) on Sunday organised an orientation seminar for more than 1,000 supervisory staff who will perform duties as superintendents and deputy superintendents during the medical and dental colleges’ admission test (MDCAT) on August 20.

The staff was given a briefing in detail about the processes and procedures of the test. They were given written instructions regarding the smooth conduct of the test. Addressing on the occasion, UHS Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Junaid Sarfraz Khan said more than 5,500 invigilators would perform duties at 30 centres being established in 13 cities of the province where the test would be conducted. He added that around 65,000 candidates had been registered this year for MDCAT through online registration system from July 10 to 28.

Prof Sarfraz further said the invigilator and other supervising staff had been selected after detailed scrutiny of their documents and service record to ensure maximum security of examination material during the test. He directed the staff to make all-out efforts to provide facilitation to the candidates so that they could write their test in a peaceful, irritant-free manner.
