HEC plans to increase PhD faculty to 40,000

Commission says 3,807 scholars who availed scholarship have returned after completing their studies

ISLAMABAD: The HEC plans to increase the number of PhD faculty in higher education institutions to around 40,000 by 2025 to cater to the country’s growing higher education needs.

In this regards, as many as 5,780 scholars have departed to different countries to pursue higher education under HEC’s overseas scholarship programmes. According to the commission, 3,807 scholars who availed the scholarship have returned after completing their studies.
