"He [Imran Khan] needs to realise that he is an adult and stop being so stubborn," the PML-N leader told reporters in Islamabad.
"A leader is a like father to his activists and supporters and it's about time that he starts acting like one," he added.
He said Gulalai was known to be a respectable woman and the PML-N knew nothing more about her other than that.
"The whole story about [PML-N leader] Ameer Muqam calling up Gulalai and offering her a place in the party is fabricated," he maintained.
PTI female members face constant harassment within party: Ayesha Gulalai
"Imran Khan tells others to resign and produce themselves before the courts. Now that there are such serious allegations against him, he should reign as party chief and prove his innocence just like he demands others to do so," the minister said.
Earlier this week, Gulalai, an MNA from South Waziristan, had quit the PTI and accused Khan of sending her lewd text messages.
She claimed that women affiliated with the party faced constant harassment from within the party ranks.
In response, the PTI had served a legal notice to Gulalai, telling her to prove her harassment allegations against Khan or apologise, otherwise she would be sued for Rs30 million.
Gulalai was given 10 days to prove her accusations before the party files a defamation case against her.
