RAWALPINDI: An elderly woman was killed when she resisted unidentified robbers in Rawalpindi on Thursday. According to officials, 55-year-old Afroz Bibi was just about to get into her car near Haidri Chowk on Saidpur Road in limits of New Town police when three unidentified motorbike riders appeared and allegedly tried to snatch her purse. As she resisted the robbers, the robbers opened fire, killing her on the spot. The killers then fled the scene. The woman’s driver rushed her to the Holy Family Hospital but she was pronounced as dead on arrival. New Town Police Deputy Superintendent Malik Afsar said that the driver told investigators that he did not see the killers who tried to snatch the woman’s purse.
