Illegal structures demolished in Multan

Assistant Commissioner pledged to restore every inch of public place after warnings issued by the canal department

MULTAN: As part of an operation against encroachments, the district government demolished illegal structures and makeshift houses along flood embankments in Sher Shah and Jalalabad areas on Thursday.

Govt set to increase property valuation rates by up to 30%

Assistant Commissioner Mubashirur Rehman said the operation aimed to restore official land encroached by local residents. He pledged to restore every inch of public place after warnings issued by the canal department. He added there was no chance of flood in any part of the district.

He advised the growers to continue crop cultivation as per usual routine in the current weather. He said flood dykes were being improved on Punjab government's directive.
