Vaughan, Martyn celebrate end of pay row with playful banter

As the bitter pay row between Cricket Australia and its players edges towards an amicable solution and the upcoming Ashes series is no longer under threat, smiles are finally returning to the faces of all the parties involved.

As the news broke out that a compromise deal has been agreed ‘in principle’, former England captain Michael Vaughan took to Twitter to air his thoughts, but in doing so, couldn’t help take a dig at the arch-rivals.

Vaughan’s tongue-in-cheek remark was spotted by former Aussie batsman Damien Martyn, who responded fire with fire, which in this case amounts to a bit of banter.

Australia’s upcoming series against Bangladesh and Ashes — scheduled for later this year — were under serious threat after their board and player’s union couldn’t come to terms over a new pay deal.

The dispute, however, has run its course as CA revealed on Thursday that an agreement has been reached.
