The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) served a legal notice to its former party member, MNA Ayesha Gulalai, to prove her harassment allegations against party chief Imran Khan or apologise, otherwise she would be sued for Rs30 million.

Gulalai has been given 10 days to prove her accusations before the party files a defamation case against her.

The notice was issued on behalf of PTI Central Coordinator Javed Badar by Advocate Ahsan Javed.

It has been sent to Gulalai's residence and parliament lodges.

'Lewd text messages' to Ayesha Gulalai: Check Imran's Blackberry data, demands PML-N

Gulalai, an MNA from South Waziristan, had announced on Tuesday that she was leaving the PTI and claimed that women affiliated with the party faced constant harassment from within the party ranks.

“It is my integrity that matters to me the most,” the MNA told reporters. “I cannot compromise when it comes to my honour and dignity.”

She alleged that women working with the party received lewd text messages, and she could not put up with this any longer.

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Hanif Abbasi has demanded a probe into the PTI chief’s Blackberry data to confirm Gulalai’s harassment allegations against him.
