You no longer need bold and basic colours to look glamorous on Eid

Keeping in mind the sweltering heat in Pakistan these days, clothing brands have launched an impressive mélange of pastel colours. Bold and bright clothes that bore a resemblance to truck art are passé now. Ice cream inspired colours like vanilla, milky white, pistachio green, creamy orange and light lemon have an intrinsic feminine quality to them. Here are a few tips you must follow to get the romantic and ethereal aura this Eid rather than ending up with a washed out look in all neutrals. 

1. Fabric feast 

This is the most important step since everything that follows will be according to the fabric. Since the colours are muted, they look dull in certain fabrics. This is the reason you should limit your pastels in lawn and cotton to casual wear. Experiment with organza, silk and chiffon for this occasion.

2. Making the cut 

Now that we've picked our fabric, let’s pick a pattern. You should give more thought to the cut of your dress than you usually do. Flared sleeves, frock-like shirt with bell bottoms may not necessarily suit you. Do not go overboard with the flare. If you opt for ghaghra pants that flare from the knee down, cut down on the length of the kameez. However, if the pant starts as a cigarette pant and then flares into a gharara at the ankles, then you can be slightly more liberal with the shirt length.
