UVAS disburses Rs50 million in financial aid

VC said the varsity was actively working to enhance milk and meat production in the country through quality education

LAHORE: The University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences disbursed Rs50 million as financial aid among talented and deserving students in 2016.

This was stated by UVAS Vice Chancellor Dr Talat Naseer Pasha. He was speaking to the Deputy Head of Mission Renate Pors and First Secretary Economic Affairs Winnie van der Wal, who visited the UVAS City Campus on Monday from the Netherlands.

The VC briefed the delegation on UVAS’ academic, research and extension services as well as various training programmes. He said that to develop ostrich farming in Punjab, UVAS distributed cheques as a subsidy among progressive farmers. “It has been playing a key role in the development of livestock and related sectors,” he added.

The VC said the varsity was actively working to enhance milk and meat production in the country through quality education.  They also discussed possible collaboration between UVAS and veterinary universities of Netherlands for the promotion of education and research.
