At least 27 heirs of the deceased were given Rs 400,000 each under financial assistance scheme on the orders of the government and under the supervision of OPF Managing Director Habibur Rahman Gilani, said the OPF Multan Regional Manager Muhammad Nasir Khan while addressing the cheque distribution ceremony in Multan.

He said that the OPF fully assisted the heirs from preparation of documents, transportation of body to Pakistan and to receiving cheque. He added that 22 educational institutions of OPF were working in the country, while medical assistance was being provided through hospitals and medical camps. In addition to OPF complaint cell, Prime Minister's Complaint Cell was also active in resolving problems of overseas Pakistanis and their heirs, according to Khan.
