Teaching Workshop: ‘Students deserve single-curriculum relief’

Nida Malik says a single curriculum should be developed and adopted by all the boards.

Every education board in the country has its own set of rules. This creates a lot of problems for students who  have to switch from one board to another. A single curriculum should be developed and adopted by all the boards, said primary school teacher Nida Malik on Saturday. She was speaking at a three-day workshop on Curriculum and Assessment and Schools Leadership organised by Trust for Advancement of Knowledge and Education (TAKE).

The workshop on curriculum assessment was conducted by Tammara Bibby, a lecturer at the University of London, and the one on School Leadership by Dr Raphael Wilkins.

Bibby said they were focusing on basic teaching methods that could be used anywhere in the world.

She said most teachers were not even aware of the correct strategy for marking exams.

Representatives of 75 schools from Pakistan and two from Bangladesh attended the workshop.
