Anne Hathaway to play Barbie in upcoming live action movie

Oscar winning actor Anne Hathaway is on the cards to essay the role of Barbie in a live action flick due to release next Summer by Sony, reports Los Angeles Times.

Hathaway started her career as a teenage role-model with her much acclaimed performance in Princess Diaries. The doe-eyed actor soon broke off from the stereotypical 'princessey' roles, went on to depict a varied range of characters and was lauded for her performances in The Devil Wears Prada and Rachel Getting Married.

In the upcoming live action film, the character Hathaway would potentially play the iconic Barbie doll leaving Barbie Land to embark on adventures around the world. Hathaway's career seems to have come full circle - starting with a princess, then marred by spells of serious, critically acclaimed roles to another teen-oriented character.



Could there be a better barbie than the doe-eyed, dainty and talented Anne Hathaway? We think not!
