Bollywood diva Anushka Sharma has always made sure her opinion is very well heard and absorbed. She never shies away from being straightforward and vocal about her thoughts.
Previously, in an interview, Anushka has voiced her opinion about the prevalent sexism in Bollywood. “Girls are just expected to be good-looking. Look nice and just be interesting enough for a guy to be interested in you in a film. Women doing films together – they only come together in a film when there’s a guy involved," she had earlier said.

“Men can work as long as they want to even when they’ve aged. They’re still amazing and cool. And I have no problem with that. But why is that women are only okay when they’re “young and desirable”? There’s a sexual connotation attached,” she had added.
The much acclaimed star has given solo hits like NH 10 and impressed with her prowess as an actor. The Ae Dil Hai Mushkil star will next be in Jab Harry Met Sejal.
In an interview conducted by Pinkvilla, she was asked that she has been amongst a few female actors who have spoken about sexism in the industry. Have the things changed since then?
To this, Anushka responded, "When I spoke about that, I was not talking just about me but in general."
The trailer of 'Harry Met Sejal' reminds us of some iconic films and we're not complaining!
"Has it changed completely? No, it hasn't but is we moving positively towards that change. I think yes but I think you can't hold the industry for it only because I think it also has to do with people. When you do female centric films, why don't they open to the same box office numbers as against male centric films?" she asked.
"This is such a deep rooted thing, so many years we have not really expected much from our female actors. So it will take time for us to get there. We are all pioneer of this change. May be we won't be able to see the real benefits of this change completely but at least we are doing something that will help the process."
