PESHAWAR/ LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, being the most popular leader, “lives in the hearts of 200 million people of Pakistan”.

“The PML-N is the largest and well-loved political party today because its leadership, Nawaz Sharif in particular, has served the masses with sincerity,” a press statement issued by the CM house on Sunday quoted the chief minister as saying.

The chief minister said politics was the name of selfless service to people and added the elements engaged in blame game could never feel the satisfaction attached to it.

“Niazi Sahib [Imran Khan], there is a great difference between a playground and politics, and you have maligned your political career by telling lies and taking U-turns,” Sharif retorted.

He said that the elements levelling baseless allegations against the ‘sincere’ leadership of the PML-N should be ashamed of their acts and added they should first peep into their conscience.

Step down now or be removed, Imran to Nawaz

“The destiny of Pakistan is going to be changed for the best under the unrivalled supervision of Nawaz Sharif which is making opponents uneasy.”

Shehbaz said the faces of those who left no stone unturned in destroying the economy by delaying the execution of development projects through sit-ins, lockdowns and protests had been exposed before the public.

Conscious people had rejected those elements for which they were disappointed now, he added.

The chief minister said: “They are destined to stage useless protests whereas public service is our aim so opponents will keep on protesting and we will keep moving Pakistan forward on the voyage of progress.”

He said the PML-N government had set new records of public service and added it would come up to the expectations of the people in the future as well.

“Those who are involved in impeachment against the most popular and sincere leader of the masses will achieve nothing as their wish to seek the power through clutches will never be fulfilled.”

Sharif said: “The rejected elements are worried about their defeat in the next elections because public will surely oppose anti-development elements who risk progress of the nation for their vested interests.”

“These elections will once again witness the victory of the politics of trust, service, and nobility as people will never forgive the political elements as they have tried to hinder the way of public progress by their negative politics,” the chief minister added.

In Peshawar, PM’s adviser Amir Muqam on Sunday said those engaged in spreading propaganda against Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif should know that “he enjoys public support”.

“Is this an individual’s [Nawaz’s] issue of corruption?” Muqam questioned during a public gathering held in the provincial capital.

“Conspiracies are being hatched against the game changer, China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC),” he said and added, “Those conspiring from outside the country are known but why those calling for accountability in Sindh and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) are being held accountable.

He said everyone was well aware of the past of PPP Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan.

“One can see a huge difference in the country in terms of development in 2013 and now,” he said and added: “People will hold everyone accountable in the next general elections.”

The adviser said: “The doors of the accountability commission in K-P have been locked and the keys are being kept in Bani Gala.”

He also targeted the health and education sector in the province and alleged that they were on the verge of collapse.

On the occasion, Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) Leader Malik Nadeem joined the PML-N.
