
“SNGPL issued 1.5 million new connections since the current government came into power in 2013 and the figure would hopefully reach 2.5 million by the end of its tenure,” the sources said.
They further said the National Assembly Standing Committee on Petroleum and Natural Resources has recently recommended SNGPL to provide 2 million gas connections during the next two fiscal years.
The sources claimed that gas supply to consumers had seen improvement due to imports of liquefied natural gas and discovery of 101 gas fields within the last four years.
