Addressing a news conference at the YDA camp outside Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa assembly building in Peshawar, YDA President Dr Gulab Noor stated even though they have learnt to fight for their rights from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chief Imran Khan, his provincial government had failed to address their just demands.
Noor stated that the government initially invited them for a dialogue to discuss their demands and even official letters were exchanged, but later the process was suspended.
“We were told that a meeting between YDA officials and PTI Chairman will be organised at the Lady Reading Hospital. However, that meeting could not take place,” Noor said, adding that later it was stated that a meeting will be held at the PTI chief’s residence in Bani Gala, Islamabad but that too did not materialise.
“We are going to set up protest camps in every district and will wait until July 27 for the government to negotiate with us. After that, we will go on a complete strike,” the YDA chief said, adding that they will continue their protests until all their demands are met.
