An alarming revelation

ISLAMABAD: I am writing with reference to your newspaper’s report of April 9 titled “Sakhi Sarwar attack: Bomber apologises to the nation”. The boy named Umar has said that 400 militants are being trained in Mirali, including Uzbeks, Tajiks, Arabs and Pakistanis. We should welcome the fact that at least he has realised that he, and other militants who are playing this dirty game, is wrong and has apologised.

Now it is up to our law enforcement agencies and security services to find out where this training is being given, dismantle it and arrest all those involved.

And while the law enforcement agencies and security services,
dismantle the training camps and arrest all those involved …
will they use this new found sense of responsibility,
to undo the web of so-called ‘freedom fighters’,
we have been training against the Kashmiris in Indian Kashmir,
and for causing Zia’s famous ‘Death by a Thousand Cuts’ to India?
I sincerely hope so. We can then cut back on feeding money to the
    military-industrial complex and address
the health, educational and infrastructural goals of Pakistan. Recommend

    Dear Editor and HM Irfan,
Agreed!!! In entirety. This is a bright change and hoping it is a harbinger for the format of new of thinking in the unemployed generation.

Capitalize on it. Why? Their minds are fresh and ‘vitalic’ but despondency seems to have taken over in large measure due to the prevalent economic environment. Hoping your prestigious newspaper can encourage and mobilize this new wave of hope and later enthusiasm, in the new generation. This has to suffuse and permeate the thoughts of young men and women in the troubled areas of Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa, FATA, Punjab, and to a lesser degree in the parts of Baluchistan and Sindh.
Today, Pakistan is hungry and crying out loud for UMITY, FAITH, DISCIPLINE and acceptance of each other, meaning the citizens are emptied of the force of Unity, Faith and Discipline existing before and after Independence, for a short time. Acceptance of each other because we are all, 1) Human Beings, 2) Muslims, 3) Pakistanis.
This is one small time Pakistani who believes strongly in the legacy the Quaid left us and is pre-pared to say and DO,
1.“The Ummah is like a chain and if a link breaks, the Ummah is weakened.” (Prophet Muhammad (SM)
2.”all for one and one for all.” (The Three Musketeers – Alexander Dumas).

    Salams forever.Recommend

Errr … what happened to our rather ‘inconvenient’ minorities?
Shouldn’t they be part of the party under your point number 2).
Is point number 2) necessary at all even?
How about point 2) and 3), are they also necessary?
Why not just point number 1) Human Beings.
Just a very basic, simple, humanist thought. Recommend
