Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani and PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif have opposed the setting up of a so-called technocrat government.
After a meeting with the prime minister, PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif said that there is no justification for any such set-up, adding that all such past experiments had failed.
Stressing the need for implementing court decisions, he said that not just the government, but everyone needed to obey them.
During the meeting, Prime Minister Gilani said that Nawaz Sharif was a national level leader and the entire nation was worried about him.
Sharif underwent a minor heart surgery last month. The prime minister is in London on a private visit in connection with the hospitalisation of his son Haider Gilani.
Sharif’s son Hasan Nawaz received Prime Minister Gilani. In a brief chat with the media, the prime minister said he could not comment on the ban on Geo Super because the matter was being heard by the court. He, however, said that Pemra has ended all draconian laws aimed at curbing the freedom of the press.
Commenting on the young doctor’s issue, the premier said the federal and provincial governments are taking steps to resolve the matter.
Nawaz thanked the prime minister for paying him a visit and said he would return to Pakistan soon. The meeting lasted nearly half-an-hour. The prime minister was accompanied by Pakistan’a High Commissioner to the UK Wajid Shamsul Hasan.
