Three-member senate panel to finalise statutes of USTB

PESHAWAR: Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Governor Engineer Iqbal Zafar Jhagra said that all kinds of irregularities should be avoided while the education system should be based on transparency.

“There is no doubt that universities can play a vital role in creating a cream of the nation by providing quality education,” he said while presiding over senate meeting of the University of Science and Technology (USTB) of Bannu.

The senate meeting of the university was held at the Governor House in Peshawar on Tuesday where the varsity’s budget and approval of statutes were discussed.

Earlier, USTB vice chancellor briefed the governor over the university’s statutes.

They proposed a committee to grant final approval for the statutes with in stipulated time.

The committee comprised of Dr Khairullah, Engineer Suleman from Higher Education Department and Khalid Khan from Establishment Department.
