RAWALPINDI/ ISLAMABAD: The Anti-Car Lifting Cell (ACLC) of Islamabad Police has arrested a suspected car lifter and recovered a stolen car from him, a police spokesman said on Saturday.

A two-member ACLC team arrested Rizwan and recovered a car (IDM-3903) from him. The car had been stolen from within the remits of the Kohsar police station. The suspect is a known offender. He has previously served time for his involvement in similar activities. The spokesperson said that further investigations were underway.

Appreciating performance of the officers, SSP Islamabad Sajid Kiani directed officials to accelerate efforts to curb car thefts in the city.

Accidents in Pindi

A total 158 road traffic crashes were reported in Rawalpindi in the past week.

The District Command and Control Room of the Punjab Emergency Service Rescue 1122 in Rawalpindi received calls for crashes. In these accidents, 200 seriously injured people were shifted to different hospitals. Moreover, 40 victims, who sustained minor injuries, were provided first aid on the spot. The details further show that total 241 victims were affected by road traffic crashes including 196 males and 45 females victims.
