Indian troops martyred three young Kashmiri men in Tral town of the Indian-occupied Kashmir (IOK) on Saturday, Radio Pakistan reported.

The youth were gunned down when the troops opened fire during a search operation in the Watyun area of the town.

The incident comes after the Indian forces had unleashed state terrorism last month killing at least seven young men, two of whom were said to be the freedom fighters.

Nine killed in violence across Indian Occupied Kashmir

It was during an operation in the Uri area of Baramulla district on June 11 that the youth were brutally martyred by Indian troops.

The Indian forces then had launched a siege and search operation in the Vessu area of Islamabad district following an attack on a convoy of the Indian paramilitary force. One person was injured during the exchange of fire between the attackers and the troops.

Kashmir Issue: Resolution against Indian aggression

Freedom fighters have for decades been fighting roughly 500,000 Indian soldiers deployed in the territory, demanding independence from India or a merger of the Himalayan region with Pakistan.

Armed encounters between rebels fighting against Indian rule of Kashmir and soldiers have become more frequent since last July when security forces killed a popular rebel commander.
