Today marks the 20th birthday of our very own national and global hero Malala Yousafzai. On this occasion, her mother tweeted  a picture of a hand-written greeting card with a heartwarming birthday wish for the young activist.

Malala is growing up

Malala recently joined Twitter after finishing high school and her feed already seems to be flooded with birthday messages from some high profile celebs.

The birthday girl herself is presently in Iraq, spending her day with ISIS victims.

Ben Harper | 7 years ago | Reply Agreed, My children went to the best school on merit. Got 11A* at GCSE, 4 A levels and one became a dentist and the other is a medical student. A young man at my son's school did a degree in Astrophysics at the age of 14. That is real achievement. I think it was all planned by the father. The whole family are living a lavish life style compared to their lifestyle in Pakistan all paid for with access to the best of everything including individual tuition. Even after tuition mediocre GCSE's. Just Google her GCSE results, could not get into Harvard because you have to do a test so reluctantly applied to Oxford who gave an offer of AAA but will accommodate her for lower grades. Would never apply for any premier course such as medicine or law etc because in the UK there are aptitude tests for university entrance, likely she would never pass these.Waiting until 17 August for A level results. A levels taken at 20 when the average person takes them at 18. The price paid, getting shot ( no one caught yet and don't expect any one either) and convincing a good natured people that your life is in danger. Result you get to get into the UK all free.
