Bhakkar gets first-ever toll free helpline service

Move aimed to empower the citizens by providing requisite information

BHAKKAR: The district administration launched the first ever toll free helpline in the country namely ‘Labbaik Bhakkar Helpline’ with an aim to achieve higher levels of transparency, efficiency, accessibility and convenience for the citizens.

The objective of the innovative facility aimed to provide information to the citizens about a range of social, civic and municipal services on the phone.

Bhakkar Deputy Commissioner Syed Bilal Haider inaugurated the facilitation call center in an impressive ceremony which was held in the multi-purpose hall of local health department on Tuesday. The ceremony was attended by Senator Muhammad Zafarullah Khan Dhandla, MPAs Ameer Muhammad Khan, Ghazanfar Abbas, Aamir Inayat Khan Shahani, and other officials.

On the occasion, officials highlighted the objectives and utility of Labbaik Bhakkar Helpline.

While speaking to journalists, Deputy Commissioner Syed Bilal Haider said that Labbaik Bhakkar Helpline, manned by customer representatives of Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB), was being operated from the PITB Headquarters in Lahore.

He added the helpline will provide information on education, health, local government, citizen services, revenue services, employment services and cash transfers. The above mentioned set of services would be provided in Phase-I from 9am to 5pm daily in working days.

He pointed out in Phase-II, the scope and number of services would be increased, while in Phase-III, the call centre facility will operate round-the-clock.

Bilal Haider elaborated that the facilitation call centre aimed to empower the citizens by providing them requisite information needed in daily life. It would save precious time and expenditures of the people and would help in addressing transport problems.

Meanwhile, Senator Muhammad Zafarullah Khan Dhandla, MPAs Ameer Muhammad Khan, Ghazanfar Abbas and Aamir Inayat Khan Shahani lauded the launching of Labbaik Bhakkar Helpline and termed it an innovative step of district administration.

Smartphone app launched for women to report harassment

They were of the view that this step would serve as a real source of advancement for Bhakkar .They also appreciated the other initiatives of the district administration for social uplift.

At the end, Deputy Commissioner Syed Bilal Haider and Senator Muhammad Zafarullah Khan Dhandla distributed cash prizes as well as appreciation letters among the Labbaik team for excellent contribution in launching the helpline.
