PTI submits resolution in Sindh Assembly demanding resignation of PM

Resolution was moved by PTI MPA Khurrum Sher Zaman under Rule 256 of the Rules of Procedure of the provincial assembly

KARACHI: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) submitted on Tuesday a resolution in the Sindh Assembly demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

The resolution was moved by PTI MPA Khurrum Sher Zaman under Rule 256 of the Rules of Procedure of the provincial assembly. The assembly is not in session and will decide the fate of the resolution in its upcoming session.

‘Resign for democracy’: Opposition turns up the heat on PM

The resolution reads, "In the wake of the Joint Investigation Team's (JIT) report on the Panama case, the House demands that Nawaz resign as prime minister of Pakistan."

The prime minister has lost the moral authority and integrity to continue at his post. For the greater national interest of Pakistan and democracy, he should resign immediately, the resolution read.
