QUETTA: Lawyers in Quetta organised a hunger strike on Thursday to protest against non-recovery of two lawyers Munir Ahmed Mirwani and Agha Zahir Shah, who have been missing for years.

Addressing a news conference at the Balochistan High Court, lawyers Kamran Mulakhail, Baz Mohammad Kakar, Ali Ahmed Kurd and Salahuddin Mengal said no efforts had been made by the government to recover the missing lawyers.

They announced that three lawyers will observe a daily hunger strike and lead weekly processions from district courts every Saturday until the missing lawyers are recovered. They added that the step was taken to expose the crime of state functionaries against the law abiding citizens.
