TD to launch crackdown against cheating mafia in Sindh: CM
"We have given a new shape to Sharae Faisal by widening its roads and remodelling the Baloch Colony Flyover," he said, adding that the new street lights and footpaths installed along the road would add to the beauty of the main artery of the city.
Shoro briefed the CM about the progress of the road. He said that stalled work had restarted on the underpass just after the recent rains. The construction work is in progress round the clock and would be completed by the end of July, he vowed.
Karachi Package Project Director (PD) Niaz Soomro and programme manager Khalid briefed the CM on the technical aspects of the underpass and showed him the drainage system during his visit to the site, which would pump out rainwater efficiently.
Sindh CM pays surprise visit to two examination centres
Earlier, Shah visited the under-construction underpass at Submarine Chowrangi, which is being constructed at a cost of Rs707 million to ensure smooth traffic flow between Boat Basin and Sunset Boulevard.
The CM also told Shoro he would inaugurate the underpass by the end of August, therefore the work plan must be made accordingly.
He directed Soomro to widen the road along the underpass by reducing the sides of the footpaths near the narcotics office and on the opposite sides so that traffic coming from Boat Basin and Gizri could have enough space to move easily.
Shah visited Sunset Boulevard roundabout to examine the possibility of constructing a flyover to connect Gizri and Sunset Boulevard. This way, the traffic coming from Gizri to Sunset Boulevard would be made signal-free.
