Drug peddlers among 10 arrested

Two Afghan nationals also arrested for lack of travel documents

ISLAMABAD:
The Islamabad Police on Saturday said that they had arrested 10 people who were involved in street crimes and drug peddling.

The police also recovered snatched money, 635 grammes of hashish, 1.19 kilogrammes of heroin from them.

According to police officials, during separate operations, seven people were arrested for selling drugs. Sabzi Mandi police arrested Fazlur Rehman from the fruit market for allegedly snatching the handbag of a woman. Officials recovered Rs4,000 in cash and other stolen items from him.

The Tarnol police, during special checking, arrested three drug peddlers from Doray village. The suspects were identified as Jabir Khan, Israr Ahmed and Shamrez Khan, while 520 grammes of hashish and 1.18 kilogrammes of heroin was recovered from them.


Shehzad Town police apprehended Faisal Mehmood and recovered five litres of liquor from him. Meanwhile, a squad of the Khanna police during routine patrol stopped and frisked Fazal Abbas and recovered 115 grammes of hashish from him.

Four drug pushers among 11 suspects arrested in Islamabad

A squad of Sihala police arrested two people, Sohail and Waqas, and recovered a litre of alcohol from their possession.

The Bhara Kahu police, during a routine patrol, arrested Najibullah and Momin Jan. On checking their identification documents, it was discovered that they were Afghan nationals. When they could not produce valid travel documents, they were apprehended and booked.
