Egypt squash greats to play in Pakistan

A number of top-ranking international squash players will arrive next week for two squash series

ISLAMABAD: While a number of former top footballers arrive in the country to play exhibition matches in Karachi and Lahore, the Pakistan Squash Federation (PSF) and the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) have given sports fans in the capital some hope.

A number of top-ranking international squash players will arrive next week for two squash series, the PSF and PAF announced on Friday.

The visiting players include Karim Abdel Gawad from Egypt, who is currently ranked second in the world rankings, having lost the top spot only last month. He will be followed by another Egyptian, Omar Moosad who was ranked as third in the world last year.

Other players from Egypt who will be visiting Islamabad for the series include Mohamed Aboulghar, Zahed Mohamed, and Karim Al-Fathi.

The Pakistan vs World-V series is expected to be played at the Mushaf Squash Complex in Islamabad on July 12 and 13. The world series will be followed by the bilateral Pakistan vs Egypt series on July 15 and 16.

Other players participating in the world series include Leo Au from Hong Kong, Lucas Serme from France, Todd Harrity from America, Nathan Lake from England, apart from Al-Fathi.
