KARACHI: Mayor Karachi Wasim Akhtar said a new block is being established at Abbasi Shaheed Hospital to provide medical treatment and diagnosis facilities to children.
Over a thousand children would be checked in this block's Out Patient Department on a daily basis. Children brought to the hospital in critical condition would get instant medical aid and treatment without going through unnecessary formalities.
He said this during a visit on Wednesday to the children's hospital in Korangi No 5 that is run by the Child Life Foundation (CLF). Korangi DMC Chairperson Syed Nayyer Raza and other officials of Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) accompanied the mayor on this occasion. The hospital's CEO, director of administration, senior consultant and others were also present on the occasion.

It is a good omen that CLF is joining hands with us in uplifting child medical treatment facility in KMC-run hospitals, which would benefit the people of District Central and District West along with other areas of the city, he said.
