He was nabbed at the exam centre Alipur when his 'fake finger' fell on the ground while giving his biometric attendance. An SSC officer was called immediately and he was taken into arrest by the police while his admit card and other documents were recovered.
The candidate named Vikrant, a resident of Modinagar, Ghaziabad had been at the exam centre to give the test for another applicant called Sachin, who resides in Sonipat.

A turn-wise biometric check was being done by authorities of students entering exam halls on various floors when Vikrant's 'fake finger' fell on to the floor and gave him away.
Officials also found a driving licence in his name and address while the card being used for examination belonged to a different person.
Eventually, Vikrant admitted his crime and was arrested by the police.
