At least 6 killed in Shikarpur tribal dispute

Several others injured as members of two families exchange fire in Khapur tehsil of the district

At least six people were killed and several others injured after members of two families exchanged fire owing to a longstanding tribal feud in Shikarpur on Monday.

The incident occurred in Khanpur tehsil of Shikarpur district where rivals openly clashed with no law enforcers in sight, sources said.



Taking notice of the incident, Sindh Home Minister Sohail Anwar Sial has directed the Shikarpur SSP to take control of the situation and furnish an inquiry report regarding the incident.

“The home minister has expressed concern over the killings in Shikarpur in a tribal dispute...," a statement quoted him as saying.
