Nation’s sacrifices will not go to waste: PM

Says elements poised to undermine unity, development will face defeat

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has said that sacrifices of the Pakistani nation against terrorism and extremism will not go waste.

In a statement issued on Sunday, he said the elements engaged in the activities against the solidarity, unity and development of Pakistan will be defeated.

“The elements poised to undermine the unity and development of Pakistan would face defeat, he” added.

The prime minister said that the victims of the Parachinar blasts incident will be looked after and compensated completely.



He directed Governor Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Iqbal Zafar Jhagra to distribute relief cheques among the victims of Parachinar terrorism incident and has been asked to submit suggestions to the premier.

K-P government has been given the task for the distribution of the prime minister's announced package for Parachinar blasts' victims.

Separately, Minister of State for Information Marriyum Aurangzeb said that terrorist incidents have reduced by 90 per cent in the country.

In an interview with Radio Pakistan's News and Current Affairs Channel on Sunday, she said that with joint efforts of the security forces and people, the menace of terrorism will completely be eradicated from the country.

Marriyum said the sacrifices rendered by the security forces and the citizens of Pakistan will bear fruit and the future of the country and next generations will be more secure.



The minister said enemy of the country wanted to create sectarian rift through the Parachinar blasts.

“Security forces and the people of the country have foiled the nefarious designs of the enemy of the country and entire nation is united in the war against terrorism,” she added.

She stated that the National Action Plan is yielding its results.

“Peace has been restored in Karachi. Implementation of the NAP is shared responsibility of all the provinces and the federal government,” the minister said. APP
