ISLAMABAD: A police patrol foiled a bid by four men to allegedly kidnap a fruit vendor from the Khanna Pul on Thursday.

Ramzan Husain told the police that four men visited his stall in a car and a pick-up truck. Instead of buying fruits, they allegedly forced him into the car and picked up his fruit cart. The suspects also allegedly snatched Rs5,000 from him at gunpoint, Husain maintained in his complaint to the police.

During the attempt, Husain claimed that the four men beat him up and tied his tunic and vest over his eyes. The two vehicles then started driving towards Rawat.

However, when they reached Gulberg Greens, a police patrol stopped them.

Hearing a noise from the car, officials searched the vehicle and recovered Husain.

Police arrested all four occupants of the car.
