LAHORE: A division bench of the Lahore High Court, headed by Justice Umar Ata Bandial, on Wednesday extended the stay against the construction of the Kalma Chowk flyover and directed the government to file its reply by the next date of hearing, April 11. The bench, however, permitted the government to do pile work. No construction above ground level is allowed. Earlier, an Additional Advocate General (AAG) requested the court to withdraw the stay order. The court ordered him to first file a reply. The AAG submitted a report saying that the construction of the flyover was necessary owing to frequent traffic jams at the chowk.
