VEHARI: A local court ordered a medical check up of a murder accused after district jail officials allegedly tortured him in lock up.  Prisoner Shabbir Ahmed was allegedly tortured by jail officials Zaman Khan, Fayaz and Muhammad Akram last week. Ahmed’s skull was split open and medical reports reveal signs of torture all over the man’s body. The prisoner submitted an application with the area magistrate requesting a medical checkup a few days ago. The court ordered the medical exam and asked that action be taken against the officials involved. On the other hand, the district jail superintendent Shehram Khan said a committee had been formed to investigate the charges.
