Saving Land: 12 farmers try to set themselves on fire

HYDERABAD: Twelve farmers sprinkled petrol on themselves during a suicide attempt at a protest outside the press club on Wednesday. Sindhi Goth Bachao Ittehad and action committee organised a demonstration against the leasing of land in Latifabad to an industrial group. The police stopped the protesters from burning themselves using baton-charge and took them into custody. The protesters complained that they have been protesting for three months and resorted to suicide as a last option.
