ISLAMABAD: One wheeling continues to go unchecked in the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi ahead of Eidul Fitr holiday as a large number of youth are seen indulging in the life threatening sport on various roads.

Gangs of bikers riding at break-neck speeds not only endanger their lives but that of others also. Abul Hassan, a motorist said that while driving down the 9th Avenue, he had to apply emergency brakes after a group of bikers closely passed his car showing stunts and wheeling.

Life threatening : ‘Legislation is needed to discourage one-wheeling’

Driving sanely becomes difficult with bikers doing zig-zag turns, riding while lying on the seat, of course wheeling, he added. When contacted, an official of Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) said that ITP was working efficiently to stop wheeling on highways and challan tickets were being issued to violators.

However, it is difficult to follow every biker. He said that special teams were being formed to check  the menace.
